Good times

I've been a bad, bad boy....

So not only has Fisher been waking up numerous times throughout the night (and crawling into our bed) and then waking up at 6:30 instead of 8:00 but he also has figured out how to pull a chair around the house to reach whatever high place he is not supposed to reach. One morning I came out to discover that he had found my permanent markers (which were in a place that should not have been accessible to him) and decided to decorate the floor and his face. His face took a long time to wipe off but it finally came off. I was too angry at the time to think about taking any pictures. This picture came from a few hours later after I had tackled the floor with rubbing alcohol for the first time. It didn't help very much. The second time around I drowned the marker and now it only looks like a faint bruise on the floor, thank goodness.

Due to the recent lack of sleep we're dealing with Fisher being tired all day but he absolutely refuses to take a nap. I am used to the no nap thing but I don't like early mornings and a tired little boy as the day progresses. Later I put him into his room for some quiet time. Things became a little too quiet and when I went to peek in on him it was only to discover that he had torn his room apart. Every thing was off his shelves- even the high shelves that he shouldn't be able to reach. We still have no clue how he is getting to some of these places, but he is. He got a hold of his lotions, etc. and this was only a small part of the mess that I found when I opened the door.

It is hard to stay too mad at him though because then he will say something that makes me like him again :) That same day he started having major meltdowns and I kept telling him he needed to stop crying and screaming or else he was going to have to take a nap whether he wanted to or not. Eventually he did calm down but was still so tired so I told him to go get ready to lay down. His response?
Fisher: "But Mommy, look at my eyes!"
Mommy: "What about them?"
Fisher: "They're not crying anymore!"

Fisher is in desperate need of a haircut. I have let it grown out longer than normal and this is the result. Nothing tames the hair. Even if I completely wet it down and put mousse in it, the hair will still find a way to stick out every which way. So yes- he does go to church looking like a little chia pet with bad cowlicks. Another big event is that Fisher is now a Sunbeam at church- or "Sun beemp" as he likes to call it. So far he loves it although I am not quite sure if the teachers feel the same way :)

I had my birthday last week and Fisher and his friend Savanna decided to take care of the opening of birthday packages for me. Thanks to everyone for the cards, calls and gifts. It was a nice relaxing 27th birthday.

Todd and Fisher have spent a lot of time playing with this little car ramp. Todd had one when he was a kid and had such fond memories he couldn't resist buying one for Fisher. Our floor is perfect for racing cars. They fly off the track.

Even though Fisher has been difficult with the sleeping lately he is much improved from how horrible he was for about six months. He talks like crazy and I love hearing his little insights on life.

No wonder he is having troubles sleeping. That can't be comfortable.

Modeling Mom's slippers.

More play time with Daddy.

And last but not least we had two little cardinals that visited our back yard one afternoon. If you enlarge the picture you can see one in the bottom right hand corner and the other is in the upper left. They looked so pretty with their vibrant red against the ugly winter background.

One last note is that we have the ultrasound appointment on Thursday! Whoo hoo! I am going into my 20th week. It is hard to believe we're at the half way point already.

Fire Trucks and Gingerbread Wars

This is post #2 for the day, Mom, so I don't want to hear anything else for a little while about me not updating :)
One of the first nights we were in town some family friends had invited us to go caroling while riding on their vintage fire truck. Thank you Jeff & Zan!

Even though it was so cold, Fisher loved it! He played on it for a while before everyone else arrived and then convinced us to go caroling to a few houses because we couldn't bring ourselves to take him home since he was having so much fun.

We all piled into the back until the truck would pull up in front of a house with the lights and siren going. Fisher was smiling and laughing like crazy while we drove along and loved it when everyone started singing. All in all it was a very fun evening and not something you experience every day.

Todd and my Dad took fisher out for a little sledding.

The next section is mostly for Seve & Katrina who requested pics...
The beginning of the battle of the gingerbread wars. I don't think that is where the frosting was supposed to go Roberto!

Mom and Dad took the challenge quite seriously. Mom was in charge of the trees & landscape.

Ken whistling while he works. (Alicia...someone you managed to work your way out of almost all my pictures...sorry about that!)

Todd and I hate looking at pictures of ourselves these days but this is motivation to lose the weight, right? I figured I should document that we were on this trip.

Every one's houses looked fantastic. Ken & Alicia had one of my favorite features...the cemetery. So detailed.

And then there was ours :) The candy by the house was all the junk in our yard...

It was a fun time for everyone. Abby and Fisher woke up at the very end of the decorating and had a fun time eating all of the candy.

Happy (belated) Birthday to Fisher

It is hard to believe that Fisher is already three years old. Time sure does fly.

Fisher's third birthday occurred while we were in Reno and my Grandma and my Aunt Kathy & Aunt Jeanne came to celebrate with us along with my brother Ken, his wife Alicia and Fisher's cousin, Abby. Of course, G & G Lund were there as well :) Thanks to everyone for making Fisher's birthday a fun time for him. Uncle Robbie & Aunt Erin were in the process of flying so they didn't quite make it.

Bring on the presents.

Who's ready to open presents? ME!!

Abby was also very enthusiastic :)

You have my full attention Aunt Kathy.

Every card was read...

The wrapping paper didn't stand a chance of being salvaged.

He acted surprised and happy at everything he opened- even the presents that he had already seen and used on the flight out.

The recorder was definitely a hit. Thanks Ken & Alicia! Since he has been home it has also become a drum stick. We are trying to curb that one.

It is not everyday that I get a picture like this. Thanks to everyone for being such good sports!

The close up: Aunt Jeanne AKA Spiderwoman.

Spiderman cake #2 . (The first was with G & G Church in Cinci.)

Blowing out all of the candles.

After cake & ice cream Fisher and Abby wore off the sugar by sprinting up and down the hall chasing after each other.

And then they made Grandpa work off some of his sugar.

Later that night, Cousin Erin stopped by before she had to go in to work. She is the only one who could convince Fisher to wear the Spiderman mask. Thanks for dropping by, Erin!

Q: "How old are you Fisher?
A: "I'm fweeyeawsowd."

Birthday and Christmas Have Come and Gone

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Christmas season. We enjoyed time together as a family since Todd had a three week break from school. We also were able to visit with both sides of our family which always makes for good times.

Hurry up Dad!
Todd took Fisher on a walk one night to go around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights. Fisher loved the lights and decorations this year along with everything dealing with Christmas. It was so much fun seeing how much more he seemed to understand what was going on.

Rosey cheeks after being outside.

On Fisher's last day of pre-school before break they had a pajama party and gift exchange. They made reindeer antlers using their hand prints which is what Fisher has on his head. He loved his hat and wore it around for a few days straight.

We're still in this particular smile phase. I am waiting for him to grow out of this one :)

Grandma & Grandpa Church did the 12 days of Christmas for us. Between his pre-school party, packages in the mail, celebrating his birthday & Christmas with G & G Church early and then birthday and Christmas out in Reno, Fisher seems to think that presents are an everyday occurrence. It has taken a little bit of present weening since we've been home and settling back into our everyday routine for him to realise this is not the case. For a while he was wrapping up anything he could find in blankets and paper and telling us he had presents for us.

Little hands busy at work. I wouldn't be surprised if they were calloused after this holiday season from the onslaught of presents.

One of the best parts about going to Grandma & Grandpa Church's is playing with all of the candles. I pulled out the old/used ones so he couldn't do any damage to the nice ones. If anyone is looking for great scented candles my in-laws make the best!

Grandpa and Fisher.
Grandpa was showing off the new beard which we all voted for him to keep but we heard through the grapevine that it was recently shaved off :) Happy belated Birthday Grandpa!

Fisher is always excited when Uncle Jedd is around to play with. They are best buds.

We went up to Cinci to celebrate Fisher's third birthday and Christmas with Todd's family before we left out of town. The night we got in we did birthday and the next morning was Christmas. Here is his Spiderman birthday cake. He loved it and still plays with the spiderman constantly.

Staring down the candles after a few attempts of blowing on them with no luck. He eventually figured it out.

Opening presents for his birthday.

And more presents...

Fisher checking out the presents under the tree that he was going to be opening for "Christmas" morning.

Grandma and Fisher smiling for the camera on "Christmas" morning.

One of Todd's mission buddies happens to be in his parents' ward so we were able to visit with him for the first time since we were married over six and a half years ago. After a few hours it was easy to see why the two of them got a long so well :)
