Random Fisher pics
He has decided this week that he is capable of feeding himself. Go ahead, kid! I was getting tired of feeding you anyway! ( j/k)This is one of Fisher's "pay attention to me" looks. I was sitting at the computer and when I looked down at him he was staring at me. He is learning how to get our attention. It is not as though he has to go looking for it very often considering everything in our lives revolves around him. When we take a second to not
revolve around him he finds a way to change the focus back onto him. Clever little fella.
Hanging out with Daddy (who was talking on the phone) and giving the camera some more of his smiles.
Fisher has this little tuft of hair on the top of his head that always sticks straight up. This was his first Fourth of July which we celebrated by going to Walmart while everyone else was watching fireworks.

What's a pacifier???

Fisher has never taken a pacifier. He started sucking his thumb when he was around 4-5 weeks old and only sucks it when he is tired or hungry. We have recently entered the realm of teething. Unfortunately, Fisher has not been one of those babies who do not seem to notice when they are teething. Granted, he is not as bad as some that I have heard about but we are well aware of the little white terrors waiting to emerge from his gums.
Yesterday, as he was have a screaming fit that was not related to being tired or hungry, I tried to give him a pacifier to suck on. Sucking is supposed to soothe and since he was choosing not to soothe himself with his thumb I figured I could try baiting him with a pacifier. It was quite obvious, two seconds into me having given it to him, that Fisher had no clue what to do with it. He pulled it out of his mouth and started to chew on the side. A few minutes later I found him trying to gag himself with the pacifier and chewing on it every way except for the right way. I eventually took it away without the slightest fuss from him, apparently no love being lost.
I guess I should feel lucky that I won't have a three year old screaming "Where's my paci?!?!?! I want my paci!!" For this I am grateful.
Louisville in the summer

I thought I would post a picture of the view from our apartment during the summer since it looks a lot different from what most of you have seen when you have visited in the past. It has been stormy the past few days complete with lots of heat and humidity! My idea of going outside on days like this are to open the blinds. I hate the humidity!

Fisher's day at the pool
Fisher and I went to the pool with our friends, Leslie and her 10 mo. old son, Daniel. We went over to her place to keep them company since her husband was busy with Youth Conference and Todd was up on campus. Fisher enjoyed going in Daniel's floatie. At first he did not like the cold water but once he sat with me in it for a little while he was happy as could be.

Sitting up
This past weekend
This picture should be below the next picture because this is what happened AFTER blowing bubbles. This was Fisher's first day of applesauce.
He kept making this face and blowing bubbles while eating cereal with applesauce.Chew, Chew, Chew
Fisher loves to chew on everything he can get his hands on. He loves fingers, cameras, paper, clothing, remotes and pretty much anything his little hands can grasp and then can fit into his mouth. If it doesn't fit at first he continues trying until it does.
I like this picture because it shows Fisher's blue eyes. Hopefully he will learn something from these little educational blocks one day. As of right now the only look he gets at them is on the journey to his mouth.

Caught in the act. His favorite toys are completely forgotten if there is a water bottle present to chew on.
