What keeps a two-year-old occupied?

Along with spending time outdoors, Fisher found plenty to do inside while we were in Reno. Nothing is safe from a rambunctious two year old...

He still loves the computer and we eventually had to turn them off throughout the day so that he wouldn't do any permanent damage.

Lately he has been very independent and tries to dress himself. It is so hard for me to be patient with him while he learns to do this, especially when we are in a hurry. This is Fisher attempting to put his sock on all by himself.

Even though we were not at home we expected Fisher to fulfill his normal chores which included vacuuming the entire house. Work then play! :)

He reorganized any pillow and blanket he would get his hands on...

When it came time to take down the Christmas decorations, Fisher was a wonderful help.

He even decided to pack himself up so that we could have a quiet evening.

Many hours were spent going up and down the stairs.

A lot of prank phone calls were made.

While Fisher was playing, we spent a lot of time playing cards with Grandpa and occasionally with Grandma. She preferred two-year-old duty.

Fisher gave Grandpa an audience for all of Grandpa's movies, pictures and music on his computer.

Fisher loved sitting at the bar stool like a big boy.

Fisher spent a lot of time playing with Grandma in their "fort" under the table.

After we spent about two weeks straight with both of our families and Fisher having non-stop attention from people other than his mom and dad, it has been a transition having it back to being just me and Fisher every day while Todd is at school. I think we are finally getting back to the normal routine of our lives.

You asked about Chula...

This one is for you Michelle (H.)- You asked about Chula so I thought I would put up a couple of pictures of her from our last trip. Fisher loved her and made it his mission to make sure she was on her tree instead of in her cage. He would take us into her room, point at her and say "Bird!" and then run out and point at the tree and say "Twee!" It caused him a lot of stress if she remained in her cage for even a few minutes :)

I am finally attempting to catch up on the blog. So far I have birthday & Chrismas down. The day after Christmas we left for Reno for a week and then flew to Denver for a few days for my cousin Mark's wedding. Here are some of the pictures from Reno. I plan on putting some more up along with wedding pictures from Colorado. Hopefully I will be caught up by the end of the week!

Fisher spent a lot of time on the trampoline even though it was cold outside.

I promise he is laughing hysterically in this photo and not shattering the right side of his body as it may appear. (No two year was harmed in the shooting of any of these photos.)

Even though this picture is blurry because they were in the middle of a jump, you can see Fisher's smile. It is kind of fun when you enlarge it.

If Todd and Fisher were to appear to me as ghosts, I believe this is what they would look like.

After this, Fisher tried to climb over the fence only to find himself in a very precarious situation. Note to Fisher: climbing fences when dressed like you should belong on The Christmas Story = not a smart idea.

Lately Fisher feels he is to independent to hold our hands.

Fisher loves the ladies. In this instance we were having a nice family walk and these two girls happened to pass by. Fisher proceeded to run after them and they were nice to enough to pose for a picture with him. When they left he was sad and watched them walk away until they were around the corner.

"Goodbye my lover(s)..." I can't help but have James Blunt run through my head when I look at this picture. That and Michael from The Office when Carol dumps him and he is too cheap to by the whole song so he listens to the 30 second preview over and over...ha ha.)

I always seem to love any pictures of Fisher strolling away from the camera. I don't know why...He is on his way to visit the horses down the hill from Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Christmas in Louisville

The day after Fisher's birthday is Christmas Eve. The boys started the morning off with a drumming session.

Later on Grandpa and Todd took Fisher on a walk with his car. The weather was freakishly warm this year. Fisher probably would have been fine without his coat had it not been for his overprotective mother. :)

The family after we went to see National Treasure 2. Fisher stayed home and played with Grandpa while we went to the theatre.

Christmas morning Fisher came running out of his room to this. The b-ball hoop was from G&G Church, the table from G&G Lund and the bike was from us. Fisher actually opened the bike the night before and we (I say "we" but really mean Todd and his dad) put it together for Christmas morning.

Fisher went running to the tree after he spotted the plethora of presents under the tree. He knew exactly what to do after all of his practice from two days earlier. Thankfully G & G wrapped his presents in Elmo paper, which automatically attracted his attention. Otherwise, he might have started ripping into all of our presents!

Getting down to business. After a while he tired of opening presents and decided to play with the ones that were open.

This is called multi-tasking presents. Riding his bike and playing basketball at the same time.

Fisher's Birthday

The Birthday boy. It was a Sunday and we had all taken naps so we weren't exactly dressed up for the occasion.

Uncle Jedd, Grandpa and Grandma Church came to Louisville to celebrate Fisher's birthday and Christmas with us.


Fisher had lots of presents to open, all being properly decorated in birthday paper and not leftover Christmas wrapping paper. I would say poor Fisher for being born two days before Christmas but he did just fine in the present category. If this is an indication of things to come I won't feel bad for him at all.

By the end of his birthday, Fisher had opening presents down pat. No present was too big of a challenge.

Why bother putting the presents together when they are fun to play with in their individual parts?

Aaron & Brynn brought their dog, Jake, with them to celebrate Fisher's birthday. It was probably the highlight of Fisher's night.

He loved his cake. This is a picture of him helping me finish off my piece.

After cake he had fun pouring water back and forth between his Elmo cups. This was a new and messy discovery for him.

The night was topped off by watching Elmo's Christmas Special. We like to think they aired it just for Fisher's birthday. Thanks for all of the gifts and birthday wishes from everyone. Fisher has had so much fun playing with all of his new toys.

We are still alive...

One of these days I will get around to posting pictures from Fisher's birthday, Christmas, Reno & Denver...so much to do and no desire to do any of it.

Happy Birthday Dad! We hope today has been a good one for a good guy. You are a wonderful dad, father-in-law and grandpa and we are blessed to have you in our lives! (Not to mention you have just about the best taste EVER in children's clothing!) Thanks for all that you do. We love you!
