Cooper.

A few things about Cooper at seven weeks:
He loves his baths.

He is sleeping through the night every few days now. The first night he did this was July 26th when he was five weeks old. About three or four days later he did it again and so on. It is fantastic. He was a lot slower with this compared to Fisher who was doing six hours by the time he was two weeks old.
We still have Cooper in our room compared to Fisher who was in his crib by two weeks. Todd would wake up to every little noise Fisher made which resulted in a lot of sleepless nights. This time around he has discovered ear plugs. It has worked out great. The other reason we have not moved him yet is pure laziness. I am slow to wake up and so Todd will change Coopers diaper while I take a few minutes to wake up before I go feed him. It is a lot easier having him in our room where we only have to go a few feet.

Cooper loves his swing. Once again, this is different from Fisher. Cooper loves to be rocked in the glider and the swing. It definitely makes life a little easier. :) Even though he is a wiggly little man he does love to cuddle.

He is a talkative little guy who loves to coo and snort and make all sorts of cute noises these days. It is so fun.

He is smiling like crazy these days. Whenever one of us walks up to him he will smile and start cooing. It melts my heart and I am pretty sure the other two boys in the house feel the same.

Cooper is such a mellow baby. We have been blessed with two very good babies. The question that remains to be seen is will Cooper turn wild and crazy like Fisher did when he hits 18 months? The only time he gets worked up is if he's hungry or has a dirty diaper and occasionally if he is tired he will become a little fussy.

We heard him laugh in his sleep the other night. I can't wait until he starts to laugh more because it was so cute.

We call Cooper "Cooper the Pooper" because he is a pooping beast. Not only do they come frequently but you hear them coming from a mile away.

As of right now he has dark blue eyes just like his brother. We will see if they stay that way.

He is very alert and curious. He loves to look at contrasting things and lately has started looking around at his surroundings instead of staring at the same spot for minutes on end.

He has the cutest little nose that I love to kiss.

He is the biggest wiggle worm ever. It is almost borderline spastic at times. Of course, I figured he would be, considering I had him living inside me for nine months and felt the brunt of his kicks. He loves his time on the ground- especially on his back. During tummy time he can turn his head from side to side...occasionally he just likes to burrow into the blanket while he licks it. He also loves to jump. I think the boy has springs in his legs.

Lately we have ventured to the park, he has been introduced to his Baby Bjorn, taken walks in the stroller and he has even been to the pool on a few occasions although he spent the whole time in his stroller in the shade. I cannot wait for autumn where we can spend more time outside.

(Cooper working on his super hero poses so he can be like his big brother.)
He moved into size one diapers at about six weeks and is fitting perfectly into his 0-3 month clothes. His two month check up is coming up in a couple weeks and I will be curious to see how much he has grown from the 21 1/2 inches and 8 lbs 12 oz. he was at at his 3 week check up.
We are so grateful to have this sweet little baby in our lives. Todd loves him, I love him and Fisher is head over heels for him. Cooper was the perfect addition to our family.

Cooper meets Grandpa Lund

Even though he lent my mom to me for almost a month, my dad had not met Cooper before this past weekend.

Their first meeting.
Fisher and Grandpa kept busy watching Transformers and my dad's birds over the Internet.
Fisher followed Grandpa around. They brushed their teeth together.

And spent time reading...although Grandpa Lund's version of reading differs from other people. For any of you who know him, you know he is prone to random bursts of song. In this case The Polar Express was being sung instead of read despite the protests of "Grandpa! Stop singing and read..." :)

They played cards...this time Fisher's way. Playing cards with Fisher is always entertaining.

Watching some cartoons before church. Fisher played with Grandpa's phone while Cooper got in some cuddle time.

When it came time for bed Grandpa would take his computer into Fisher's room where they would listen to music. He had made a little play list for Fisher. His time out song was "In my Room" by the beach boys. Very appropriate. This was the night before it was time to hop on a plane at 6 am the next morning.

I am pretty sure Fisher had not seen my dad since Christmas. He was having fun showing Grandpa how much he had grown and everything he could do by himself.

Cooper had grown a lot as well, from the last time my mom and Todd's dad had last seen him a month previous.
Thanks for coming out Dad! It was a nice visit and I am glad you got a chance to spend some time with the boys. :) We love you!

Fisher Update

I wanted to catch up on some of the things Fisher is into these days. There will be another post coming that will catch up on pictures of Cooper.
I have been really bad about keeping track of all the random things Fisher says and it makes me a little sad because a lot of them are rather amusing. Lately he has had a little bit of a mouth and is talking back more. We hear a lot of "No!" which is not our favorite.
(Like the hair? His hair grows like a chia pet sticking straight out. A friend of mine says he reminds her of Calvin on Calvin & Hobbs. It is very fitting.)

The first couple of weeks on my own were really good but I think he is starting to feel a little of the shift in attention. This past weekend was a big eye opener for him with all four grandparents in town and not having all of the attention on him alone. All in all he coped pretty well but we could tell he was a little confused and maybe a little sad/jealous.

Fisher is still in love with Cooper despite the fact Cooper is the cause of Fisher's change in attention. He is constantly hugging, kissing and talking to the baby.

Now that we are over the potty training hump (can I get a "hallelujah!") Fisher is really into dressing himself. This is a good example: pajamas on underneath his clothes, pj top inside out and backwards, fly undone on his shorts. He came running out yelling "I'm ready!"

We've been through the Elmo phase, the Superman phase, dinosaurs and we have now officially entered the Transformer phase. Fisher is OBSESSED with them. This is the BumbleBee costume he received for not having any accidents (and pooping on the potty every day) for a week. Hopefully he still likes it by the time Halloween rolls around. We'll be set!

(Fisher dancing a jig.)
Grandma Lund brought him out a BumbleBee shirt, transformer undies and pajamas. For the first few days he was layering all of the clothing. I guess wearing three pairs of underwear at the same time isn't such a bad idea. Accidents don't make their way to the floor quite as easily :) (Actually, he hasn't been having accidents, knock on wood.) I was relieved for the extra undies since he was in the habit of digging through his dirty laundry looking for his Transformer "underpants" as he likes to call them. He also is very adament about wearing his underwear backwords so that he can see the cool pictures that are on the bum. The other day they were really creeping and he told me "My underpants are itching my butt!" He doesn't normally say butt but there was something really funny about how it came out. I tried to explain that wearing underwear backwards will do that but he insisted on being able to see Optimus. Oh the choices...

A lot of the day is spent posing like a transformer.

He even does it while playing baseball with his friends at the park.

Fisher still has a huge repetoire of facial expressions. I think Cooper is following in his footsteps.

Fisher is an active little boy. He rarely stops going and exhausts me just watching him. He loves being outdoors, running, climbing, jumping, throwing, riding his bike and getting into trouble :) Todd actually went and bought him a new big boy bike with training wheels yesterday since he has grown out of his old one and we still have the rest of summer and fall to get through before his birthday in December. I will be posting pictures of that soon.

At the end of August he will be starting pre-school. He is really excited and I think it will be nice for him to have something to look forward to that his something just for him (and not Cooper.) He still loves reading books. Often at night he will ask to keep his little light on so that he can look at books until he falls asleep. He also loves doing puzzles and has really improved in that area. He still loves music and is constantly singing songs throughout the day. The past couple of months we have seen a huge explosion of his imagination. He is constantly playing and having little conversations with his toys. (Maybe this could be a sign he needs more friends?) Fisher is also growing physically. The kid is built like an ox. He has had some immense growth spurts this past year and literally skipped over size three. He has recently grown into a size five. Crazy. All in all Fisher is a good kid and we love him so much! He makes us laugh with his funny insights and vast imagination. He is an incredibly loving little boy and he is 100% boy doing all the things that crazy little boys do.

More Bugs

The past six months have involved Fisher and a lot of bugs. I am going to have to do a recap on all of the bugs and slimy things that have touched his hands...

Cooper's Blessing

This weekend we had my parents and Todd's family in town for Cooper's blessing.

The Coopster is finally starting to smile a lot. It is not an easy task to catch on film since he is not a fan of the camera- especially when the flash is present. He gives me the dirtiest looks after the flash goes off inches from his face :)

Fisher our crazy guy with his new size 10 shoes!

Finally a new family picture. Too bad we thought about taking one after Cooper was already in his car seat.

The men who blessed Cooper:
Uncle Jedd (Todd's brother), Dad Lund, Todd, Dad Church...and then there is Fisher with a big rock.

Todd's fam.

My fam.
It was a great day with family and food. Thanks to both sides of the family for being there!

I love my family.

Right now is one of those times in my life where I am so happy and content with my life.
Here are the reasons why:
My sweet baby and husband.
My two little guys.
(It is hard to catch both kids looking at the camera...Cooper's content but Fisher was not cooperating.)

And vice versa.
