"Kentuckians," Congratulations, Cute and Cups!

One: Todd and I both are officially Kentucky residents. Todd has had his license here for a while now, but it took the Patriot Act and us not being able to get a loan until I took care of my expired Utah license to finally convince me it was time to fix the problem and go get my official Kentucky ID. Since my current license expired January 18th of this year I had to take the written test and the eye exam. Thanks to Roberto's experience I decided to do a little studying before I took the test. It worked :) I passed.

Two: I never said congratulations to BreAnn and Nate who ran off to Maui to get married without me on April 20th. (I know, I know...we COULD have come! Dang school and money!) Anyway, I am so happy for them and after all these years of dating it is about time!!! They just have to promise to always remember my involvement in setting them up so they never forget about me :) I can't wait to see pictures. Maybe I will see a few one day...Michele promised to put some up as soon as she got the chance. Hopefully she finds a chance sooner rather than later since I know Bre won't send me any.

Three: Congrats to Michele who finished her Masters in Social Work. At least I am pretty sure that is what it was in...Regardless of the degree, that is a lot of school and I am so proud of her! I don't know how she was able to go to school for that long but all the more power to her! :) Now we will see what comes first...more school or a baby?!?! (hint hint)

Four: Amy & Justin, we received your invitation today. SOOOO cute!! The picture is cute, the invitation is cute...I can't wait to congratulate you on your wedding in LESS THAN A MONTH...It is getting so close! I can't wait to see everyone at receptions and weddings in Reno and Salt Lake. May 9th is slowly approaching....

Five: This is totally random but I don't think I ever posted anything about my first neice being born (the day after my birthday, I might add) on January 19th. She is adorable and I can't wait to see her in a few weeks! I know it is a little weird I am just now thinking about it, but I am on a roll with congratulations! So congrats to Ken & Alicia on their, now, three month old Abby :)

Now on a completely different note:
Fisher has recently started to go through a lot of effort to make sure his sippy cup is in the upright position when he puts it down. (Well, sometimes he does. He also has his moments where he likes to see how far he can chuck them across the room....it all depends on the mood.)


I know that I already put this one up but oh well. Fisher loves to see how far over the edge of the coffee table he can stick his cup before it falls.


Ignore the cough and left over dinner around the mouth. Fisher made himself comfortable next to dad and found his own little cup holder.

Grass.

We cannot wait to move for a lot of reasons. One of those is that we can't wait to be able to walk right outside into our own yard and have grass that Fisher can play on. Who would have thought that grass could be so exciting?
Since we choose not to let Fisher play in the apartment hallway due to the diseases and loogies that lurk in the carpet and we don't dare take him on to our balcony that could collapse at any minute, we drive to a park that isn't exactly close to us. It is fun to let him run around in the all the open space and see him explore grass, dirt, sticks, weeds, etc.....it is all new and exciting to him!

Cincinnati and Random Fisherness

We went to Cincinnati this past weekend to visit Todd's brother & parents. Fisher had a lot of fun getting into everything and helping us figure out what needed to be toddler proofed. Some of you might remember Bora Bora ("Bora") and Mr. Peepers ("Peepers"). They now live in Cincinnati where they receive a lot more attention than we ever gave them. Fisher enjoyed playing with the parakeets.

He also liked climbing over the arms of the couch to get to the flowers and anything else he could reach.

My little baby (who is not so little anymore) cuddling with me and his blankie. We have to enjoy the moments when he is cuddly because they are few and far between!

Fisher still loves reading his books. Todd's parents found a cute little chair for him to sit in. It will be good training for the chairs they have the kids sit in during nursery.

Now comes the randomness....

Fisher has found a new spot that he has declared to be HIS. It is the corner behind the elliptical and in between the couch and slider door. We don't like him going back there but he always finds a way to worm his way or climb under or over to get back there. He likes to throw himself into the blankets we keep stashed there.

Fisher's shirt describes him these days. "ZOOM!" He is everywhere! It will be interesting to see how he does on the flight to Reno in May. Something says that he won't be sitting perfectly still the whole day.

Our little guy is growing up!

I was browing through old pictures to see what Fisher looked like a year ago. It is amazing how fast time goes by. Fisher will be 16 months old on April 23 and I am not quite sure where those 16 months went...it doesn't feel like he should be this old! Anyway, I picked out a couple of pictures from Fisher one year ago to share with those who may not have seen pictures of him back then.

And I am capable of ruining pretty much anything on the stove....but Todd loves me anyway :)

We have a germ freak on our hands! Speaking of hands, here is Fisher cleaning his hands in his Mom's glass of ice water. It was pretty funny because he would delicately dip his fingers/hands in and then dry them off and repeat the process.

Wiping the ice cold water on his face....this must have been one of the days our air conditioner was broken...now that the AC is fixed they have moved on to new things. Today the water shut off-right in the middle of my shower...lovely.

This one is for you Grandma Lund! Unfortunately it isn't the best view of his mohawk.

Grandma Lund had a little mix up with the shoe sizes when ordering online. She had the size 5 part right! The sandal on the right is the one Fisher is growing out of. It worked out fine though, because we were able to exchange the shoes at the store for a really cute pair on shoes.

Fisher's Easter Outfit.

Here is Fisher's Easter basket which is a group effort from his mom and dad and both sets of grandparents who sent/brought him a couple things. We meant to dye Easter eggs but didn't get around to it.

Hi blue eyes!

Fisher in his Easter outfit. He was a little stinker today at church which is nothing new these days. Todd decided to take him into nursery to start getting him adjusted since he will start in June. The Jr. nursery teachers have been telling us for a while to bring him in as long as we stay in there with him. They played with bubbles (it must be a universal LDS nursery requirement, Sariah & Amy :) and Fisher loved it so we busted out the scented bubbles from G&G Church. We didn't do too much since we were inside and it was too cold to take him outside.

Oh by the way...Todd joined the Air Force

*Disclaimer: For those of you familiar with military terms and rankings-I may not have worded everything correctly....

So yesterday was a big day for Todd as he officially joined the Air Force. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Reserve of the Air Force until he graduates from dental school and then he will start active duty and can move up in the officer rankings. He will have to work for the AF for four years in order to pay back the four years of dental school which they will pay for. He will then be in the inactive reserves for an additional four years after that....We know it sounds like a huge commitment. It IS a huge commitment but it was worth it to us to not be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and then having to buy into a practice. By going this route we won't have too much debt, Todd will automatically have a job afterwards so no stress in finding a practice or even scarier having to start up his own, and it will give him an opportunity to gain some experience. Who knows, if we were to like it enough Todd could work for the AF for 20 years and retire on officer's pay and that wouldn't be so bad. So to us, this is a win-win situation even though some of you may be thinking we are crazy.

When he wasn't trying to escape from the room, Fisher enjoyed playing with the flags and the typewriter.

Todd signing his life away...Some of things he signed were that if he fails out of school he will re-pay all the debt, he has to attend the Commissioned Officer Training (COT), and if he passes up a certain weight then he will have to participate in the Fitness Improvement Program which I have been calling Fat Man Camp.

There's no turning back now! We are so excited for this next phase in our lives. Although we will be poor students for four more years we are just excited to finally have a plan and a new place to live.
