New Moon Party

My friend, Michelle, made these darling invitations. The other side of the tag said Jacob and she even thought out the use the two stars to represent New Moon being the second book in the series. Thanks for all of your help with everything!

Edward greeted everyone at the door. The Eclipse party will also have a Jacob present thanks to Martha!

My one big disappointment was that I ran out of time to make cute food cards. All of the items had a quote from the book. At 8:00 (when the party was starting) Todd was helping me cut & glue...we did not have time to cut straight or make anything look cute. I will be making them in advance next time.

There was cider to represent the wolves and strawberry daiquiris to represent the cold vampires. Thanks to Martha for making her drinks!

This one goes out to you Melanie! Mine weren't as cute as yours so you'll have to do them for the Eclipse party. :)

I was really excited about these. They were my first cupcakes ever- not much of a cake person. Even though they weren't perfect they added to the theme.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the food! There was a section for the Italian vampires, the Cullens and the wolves.

Before the games we ate food.

Had a New Moon quiz.

Played "Pin the tail on Jacob" although I forgot to get pictures so here is a picture with the biggest Jacob lover of the group. Hope you don't mind, April. :)

Later we did pictures with Edward. I will use one of myself so as not to embarrass anyone or make husbands jealous.

After the party most of us headed to theatre for the midnight preview of New Moon. Thanks to everyone who came and all those who helped with food and decor. It was a great night! For anyone interested in coming to the Eclipse party- let me know. It is an open invite and I was not sure of everyone who is a fan. For those who were at the Twilight party but moved...we missed you! (My partner in Twilight crime Melanie, Heidi, Rebecca, Jessica and Heather and anyone else who I might have missed.)

A Tale of Toilet Paper

Step One: Blow nose with an entire roll of toilet paper.

Step Two: Taste the toilet paper.

Step Three: Wrap neck in toilet paper while saying "I'm a mommy!" (I have never worn a scarf in front of him so he must be observing other mommies.)
...Although now that I think about it, he probably meant "mummy" since he learned about them for Halloween. In this situation he would say "Silly Mom!"

Step Four: Put the entire roll of toilet paper into the toilet.

...
Step Five: Notify Mommy of his latest adventure.

Fall Pictures

We had such a beautiful autumn this year that I couldn't help but take a lot of pictures. Now I am not a photographer or anything and some of the days were really dark, overcast days not great for photos but I took them anyway. One of the great things about Louisville is all of the trees. I wanted to put them on my blog to remember how beautiful they are.

One more week.

Party.
Friends.
Food.
Movie.
Can't wait.

Lesson Learned

I forgot to mention that about a month ago Fisher had his first incident with an object (other than snot, boogers and his finger) being stuck up his nose. He has promised never to stick anything else up there.
Especially anything minty.
It burns.

Happy Halloween!

Todd and I are not over the top holiday people. Except for Christmas...it takes everything I have to refrain from putting up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving. We are trying to be more festive now that Fisher is at the age where he is really excited about holidays.

So this year we found ourselves two days before Halloween with no pumpkins. Fisher and I went on a mission to find one and it took us three stores before we found any.

We finally got around to carving them yesterday which actually was a lot of fun since it was officially Halloween.

Fisher wanted happy pumpkins.

Fisher was a "confused transformer" with his Optimus Prime costume and Bumblebee mask. The Optimus mask is huge and uncomfortable to wear.

Cooper was a tiger but since we are all sick (well Fisher seems to be better but the other three of us are not feeling so hot) we decided not to take him out in the cold. I was able to take Fisher out and it was a lot of fun for me to spend time with him without Cooper.

In the beginning we were with another family (strangers we just happened to be going to the same houses at the same time) and they were cracking up over Fisher's enthusiasm. He was hustling up to those doors, be-lining across lawns and he was layered up so he looked like the chubby little kid scrambling for more candy. It was pretty funny. I had to work on trick-or-treating etiquette with him. He kept wanting to step inside people's doors to look around. One man in particular Fisher was questioning about what show he was watching. It was a lot of fun. One of my favorite quotes while we were out was "My arm is telling me that it is getting tired!"
After trick-or-treating we stopped by the Southwell's garage where they had some delicious food, treats, home made root beer, apple cider and a fun cake that lit on fire. The kids loved it.

There was a pinata which Fisher had been looking forward to all day. Ever since making the birthday party rounds for his friends, Fisher is adamant that he is going to have a pinata at his birthday party. Personally, I become very nervous whenever there is any sort of stick/bat in Fisher's hands when there is any living person or creature nearby. :)

Getting close and personal with the pumpkin pinata.

Allison blindfolding Fisher.
(What is scarier than Fisher holding a mini Louisville Slugger? A Fisher that cannot see while holding a mini Louisville Slugger!)

In the end he did fine and had so much fun. Thanks Southwells! It was a lot of fun.

Now we are all at home feeling miserable...except for Fisher. He has been eating candy all day and is happy as can be although he did just inform me that he has a tummy-ache. I told him that is one of the hazards of Halloween! It is not a successful one without feeling sick to your stomach.
