Easter Egg Hunt 2009

Hopefully the Grandma & Grandpa's are feeling like they have gotten their fill of Fisher over the past week. This is something like my fifth post already :)
Fisher went on his first official egg hunt this year and loved it.

He would pick up an egg and shake it to make sure there was something inside.

Showing his goods.

Debating whether or not to start opening the eggs.

Having a serious conversation with his Sunbeam teacher. Sunday is a new and interesting challenge at church but Fisher seems to be adjusting to his new teachers. This past week he was the best I have seen him yet.

Happy Easter!

The kids all had such a great time. The hunt was at our Bishop's house and they happen to have the most amazing yard for kids that I have ever seen. Here he crawling through "a tunnel" which was for their garden.

As you can see, there was no shortage for him to play with.

He was bounced on this spring platform thing they had, although that freaked him out a little.

Once a lot of the kids left I finally let him get on the trampoline. He loves trampolines.

He did a lot of swinging.

Bishop was nice enough to give Fisher a couple rides on the zip line they have running across the yard. He did a mini version of the ride since he struggled gripping for long periods of time.

Fisher and his big Mama.

Easter Sunday- Thirty weeks. (Now I'm 31 wks) It sounds so far along but then I think about how that still means ten more weeks. I am already feeling uncomfortable and huge...ten weeks is a long ways away when I think about the fact that I am going to be growing the whole time. Good news is that I passed my glucose test. Bad news is my blood count was low and I have to start taking iron supplements.

Happy Easter!

Here are a few pictures from Easter morning. I have so many pictures that I am trying to catch up on which is the reason for the constant posting.

On Saturday I had asked Fisher if he knows why we celebrate Easter and his reply, with a sly little smile, was "Snowmen!" We worked a little bit on that.

This year we bought (I mean to say the Easter Bunny bought) a pre-packaged basket. This was wonderful because it saved me and Todd from the endless bags of candy that we would have eaten. I did not buy one bag of candy this Easter.

Everything is turned into some sort of musical instrument.

On Sunday we talked to Fisher more about Jesus and the resurrection. We explained that because of Jesus we will be able to live with our families forever. He looked at me and said "I don't want to live with my family." Yet one more thing to work on. How to make your three old like you so that the concept of eternal families is appealing :)

Later on in the day I found Fisher whispering to our statue of Jesus. When he noticed we were watching him he informed us that Jesus was talking to him. We asked him what Jesus was saying. "That I am being a good boy!"

Road Trip to North Carolina

Last week Fisher and I made a quick road trip to Charlotte to visit my brother and his family. I was a little nervous driving without Todd, with a three year old, a bad back and being 7.5 months pregnant but Fisher was awesome for both of the eight hour drives.

Charlotte is only a few miles from South Carolina so we made sure to cross the border to say that we had been there.

One of the main reasons we went to N.C is because I wanted to see Steve & Katrina's new place and of course my new little niece, Emery. Todd and I saw Chandler at the hospital when he was born when they still lived in Indiana and it made me sad that I had not seen Emery yet and she was already three months old.

Emery is so cute. I love her rolls and chubby little cheeks! Seeing how good Chandler was around her gave me hope for Fisher when the baby comes.

Fisher had so much fun playing with his cousin, Chandler who is 11 months younger. They have similar temperaments and got along as well as can be expected at two and three. One of Fisher's first questions every morning was "Is Chandler awake?"

Steve was able to work from home for the couple of days we were there which gave Fisher and me the chance to spend more time with him. It was good to see him. Lately I have been missing all of my brothers, now that we are spread out across the country, so it was nice to get the chance to see him.

They have woods out behind their house where the little boys loved to play. Steve was nice enough to take them out while he did a little yard work.

Fisher really liked Emery and was fascinated by little things such as her not having any teeth and hair. He also thought it was funny that she did not talk. One day he did say that he did not want her to be his cousin anymore but soon thereafter he changed his mind. There was another time that he was really concerned about the fact that she was crying. In his prayers that night he prayed that the baby would stop crying.

Even a three month old deserve a good growl every now and then.

Katrina, Chandler, Fisher and I went to Lowe's Motor Speedway. Fisher was a little tired that morning and threw a nice little tantrum while we were waiting for the tour vans. It was pretty cool driving around the track. My favorite part was listening to Chandler's commentary on all the cars and vehicles in the area. It humbles one to be corrected by a two year old as to what all the different trucks are called :)

Fisher driving on the track giving me his favorite pose.

Although Fisher liked the cars, he was especially interested in the birds that were flying around.

Katrina was an excellent hostess. She drove us around the city, cooked excellent meals, cleaned up after our messes and had her own two year old and three month old to deal with. Thanks to Katrina & Steve for letting us invade your space. It was a fun time.

I have another post coming up that has pictures of Fisher & Chandler. These are the bleachers right outside the winner's circle where the previous picture was taken. The boys would have stayed there longer if we would have let them.

The boys had a lot of fun playing in the planters outside.
Dirt + little boys = Trouble
Fisher winding up....

And releasing.
Not cool.

Fisher started peddling like a champ on his bike.

All in all we had a great time, ate great food, saw new places and spent time with family. Thanks again Steve & Katrina!

Nothing like a dinosaur for a friend.

(Second Post for the day)
Thanks for the Easter package G & G Lund! Thankfully they don't give me nightmares like my mom thought they would.
Love,
Fisher

Who says dinosaurs are scary?

Poor T-Rex has already taken a beating after accompanying Fisher everywhere from the store, to playing outside, to church, to bath time and , of course, to bed.

He has really been digging (no pun intended) dinosaurs ever since the dinosaur museum visit with G & G Church in Cincinnati.

He kept telling us that the dinosaurs were happy...I think I must have been looking at the wrong ones.

Ever since receiving the package he has played non-stop with his new friends.

I love it when he makes noises with his toys as though they are flying.

Thanks for the fun package Grandma & Grandpa!
G & G Church- our mailman hasn't been dropping off packages at the door step so we will be picking up your package on Monday. Fisher is excited!

Some Things Never Change

I was cleaning out my old drafts and came across some pictures from a few years ago that made me laugh. I added a few new ones to show that some things never change.

I am working on a bunch of other posts including my trip to North Carolina & Easter events.
