Last week Fisher and I made a quick road trip to Charlotte to visit my brother and his family. I was a little nervous driving without Todd, with a three year old, a bad back and being 7.5 months pregnant but Fisher was awesome for both of the eight hour drives.

Charlotte is only a few miles from South Carolina so we made sure to cross the border to say that we had been there.

One of the main reasons we went to N.C is because I wanted to see Steve & Katrina's new place and of course my new little niece, Emery. Todd and I saw Chandler at the hospital when he was born when they still lived in Indiana and it made me sad that I had not seen Emery yet and she was already three months old.

Emery is so cute. I love her rolls and chubby little cheeks! Seeing how good Chandler was around her gave me hope for Fisher when the baby comes.

Fisher had so much fun playing with his cousin, Chandler who is 11 months younger. They have similar
temperaments and got along as well as can be expected at two and three. One of Fisher's first questions every morning was "Is Chandler awake?"

Steve was able to work from home for the couple of days we were there which gave Fisher and me the chance to spend more time with him. It was good to see him. Lately I have been missing all of my brothers, now that we are spread out across the country, so it was nice to get the chance to see him.

They have woods out behind their house where the little boys loved to play. Steve was nice enough to take them out while he did a little yard work.

Fisher really liked Emery and was fascinated by little things such as her not having any teeth and hair. He also thought it was funny that she did not talk. One day he did say that he did not want her to be his cousin anymore but soon thereafter he changed his mind. There was another time that he was really concerned about the fact that she was crying. In his prayers that night he prayed that the baby would stop crying.

Even a three month
old deserve a good growl every now and then.
Katrina, Chandler, Fisher and I went to Lowe's Motor Speedway. Fisher was a little tired that morning and threw a nice little tantrum while we were waiting for the tour vans. It was pretty cool driving around the track. My favorite part was listening to Chandler's commentary on all the cars and vehicles in the area. It humbles one to be corrected by a two year old as to what all the different trucks are called :)

Fisher driving on the track giving me his favorite pose.

Although Fisher liked the cars, he was especially interested in the birds that were flying around.

Katrina was an excellent hostess. She drove us around the city, cooked excellent meals, cleaned up after our messes and had her own two year old and three month old to deal with. Thanks to Katrina & Steve for letting us invade your space. It was a fun time.

I have another post coming up that has pictures of Fisher & Chandler. These are the bleachers right outside the winner's circle where the previous picture was taken. The boys would have stayed there longer if we would have let them.

The boys had a lot of fun playing in the planters outside.

Fisher winding up....

And releasing.
Not cool.

Fisher started peddling like a champ on his bike.

All in all we had a great time, ate great food, saw new places and spent time with family. Thanks again Steve & Katrina!

I think Emery looks a little bit like you, Meagan. She must be a Lund! What fun to visit family. Way to go Fisher on being good for the 8 hour drive. Sounds like a fun trip.
So I am just getting around to looking at blogs. It was so much fun having you guys. You left out the part about Fisher being so excited to play with Chandler that he decided to wake him up again. Thanks so much for coming to visit.
