Happy Birthday Chandler! (A few days ago)

Here's a belated birthday shout out to our one and only nephew, Chandler! We hope you had a happy birthday! We're so happy we have been able to see you as much as we have through your first year of life. Hopefully Fisher will learn to share his toys with you better as you both get older :)

I honestly did start this post on the 28th, but I was waiting for a current picture from our camera and needed the cable.

Thanksgiving pictures to come soon...

I do intend to put up our Thanksgiving pictures but I can't find our cord to transfer the pictures to the computer. In the mean time, here are some Fisher pictures showing the many facets of his personality. (AKA Fisher overkill...pictures I like that I haven't put on here yet :)

I was tagged...a long time ago

Heidi tagged me, what now seems like years ago, and so I finally decided to accept her challenge :)

Six things you might not know about me:

1. I would love to bungee jump and skydive one day.

2. I wish I could fly. I have recurring dreams about being able to fly. In them I fly so fast and zip all over the place and it is the most amazing feeling...if only it were real.

3. I am a compulsive gum chewer and normally have three different flavors of gum in my purse. Extra Watermelon, Extra Polar Ice, and Trident Citrus.

4. The only alarm clock I have ever woken up to is my cell phone. Up until I left for college my dad (and mom) woke me up. My freshman year of college my roommate, Michelle, and friend, Anna, would wake me up. My sophomore year it was a team effort from Amy & Allie. My actual roomie would occasionally not wake me up so that I would be taught a lesson...I stopped asking her to be on alarm clock duty. After that Todd took the life long calling of being my alarm clock...that is until my cell phone came along!

5. Part of the reason I sleep through everything is that I am a night owl. I'm talking a serious night owl. I could easily stay up until 3 am or later on a regular basis if Fisher would allow me to by sleeping in until noon every day :) If I am reading a good book, I have been known to stay up until 5 am reading. Boo on mornings!

6. Most people who know me know this already, but I have a severe phobia of sharks. In my brain they exist in any pool of water. Lakes, rivers, pools (especially at night)...all infested with man-eating sharks. Therefore, I am not a huge fan of water.

I'm tagging my family, Michelle Hester and RITL.

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving!

We thought it was a good fit.

Even though the Bengals are having a rough season, Fisher is still a fan.

Ready to watch the game. All he needs is a hot dog and (root)beer.

Todd's family came down this past weekend to have a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. They were kind enough to take us to a Jazz game up in Indianapolis. On the way to the stadium we were lucky enough to drive by a Justice for Janitors protest. It was awesome. Unfortunately the picture didn't turn out very well.

Todd with his good luck charm...NOT! For all of you Jazz fans out there: If you want them to win a game, do NOT invite me to attend. I have yet to see them win in person and I have been to quite a few games. This also applies to any team you want to win. It is better to give me a book and ban me to the bedroom to read instead of watching the game. Thankfully Todd still loves me despite my curse.

Before the game got ugly. (It hadn't started yet.)

We still came out smiling despite the loss. It was fun time. Thanks to Aaron and Brynn who watched Fisher for us while we played in Indy. You guys are the best!

Good ol' Reno

Fisher Magoo.

Me beating Dad at cards...

Almost every morning I would go out with my dad to fly his Falcon, Suka (2). It was pretty awesome to see her fly. My favorite was when she would dive at the pheasant I would throw.

Grandpa would sing to Fisher before he would go to bed.

Ken & Alicia were kind enough to come visit Reno for the weekend so we could see Fisher's cousin Abby. They had fun taking a bath together.

And playing together...

Fisher trying to give Abby a kiss.

Grandpa was a little more receptive...

Fisher played the piano with Great Grandma Lund...He's already showing more promise than I did.

Thanks for letting us come and tear apart your house! We had a fun visit.

Halloween

This year we let Fisher pick his own Halloween costume. We now realize there are risks associated with this. Your child might end up looking like a seventies shag rug that cookie monster threw up. Fisher loves carrying "cookie" around like a blankie but wearing a giant blue monster on his head was not his idea of fun.

Todd's class had a Halloween party of which the first hour and a half was for the kids. They had cupcakes with frosting piled a mile high, juice boxes, candy, pumpkin painting, face painting, goodie-bags...they really did a terrific job. Then they cleared out the kiddies by 8:30 so the "adult" costumes were safe to arrive. We didn't stick around for that part :)

Fisher had a chocolate chip cookie painted on his face. This is how he looked most of the night, not wearing the "head" of his costume.

Fisher after the party. He was soaked in sweat from running around like a little kid who had just eaten a pound of purple frosting.

Grandma & Grandpa Church came down to hang out with us and to go to the Trunk-or-Treat at our church. Fisher always has fun when they come to visit.

Before the Trunk-or-Treat started they did a little parade of the kids in their costumes...Fisher was protesting being a part of it.

This is the only shot we have of Fisher not trying to take Cookie's head off.

And for those of you who have requested pictures of Todd...here he is :) He is growing his big red beard again for those of you who remember the last time around.

Fisher's first trip to Lake Tahoe

I am a little behind on pictures and couldn't decide what to put up first. I decided to start with our little excursion to Lake Tahoe because it is one of my favorite places and I finally was able to share it with Fisher. I promise to go back to show his Halloween pictures.

This was the only shot I was able to get with the sun still up. We barely missed the sun setting but at least we were able to see it in the car on the drive up.

We had full reign of the beach. No one but us.

Fisher with Grandma Lund & Aunt Jeanne

If we had made it just a few minutes earlier the sun would still have been up. It was still beautiful even if it was starting to get dark.

Fisher's first time dipping his hand into the frigid water with the assistance of Grandma Lund. It is freezing in the summer...no need to mention how cold that makes it in November even though there wasn't any snow up there just yet.

Fisher and Mom hanging out on a log.

Fisher and Aunt Jeanne playing with sticks in the sand.

Fisher had a fun time playing in the sand until he decided to eat a mouth full, gagging himself, and then throwing up all the the snacks he had eaten in the car...It was gross. Thankfully I was driving and didn't have to sit next to him :)
