Let's go ride a bike!

Fisher finally out grew his little plastic toddler bike and so we decided to upgrade a little earlier than Christmas and his birthday (only two days apart) since we still have the rest of summer and fall to make it through.

1st step in Fisher learning how to ride a bike: Check out the merchandise.
I want to say that I had nothing to do with the outfit. Fisher has been asserting his independence and part of that is wearing his shirts backward (along with the underwear so he can see the pictures) and also picking out his own clothes...this is a hard thing for me.


Step 2: "No Fisher. Pushing the bike does not qualify as riding it.

Step 3: Yelling at the bike will not make it magically start wheeling you around the street.

Step 4: Feet, not hands, belong on the pedals.

Step 5: Whew! The backside has made it onto the seat...now if we can just get those feet on the pedals and the face facing forward.
(Fisher liked getting himself stuck on the curb so that he could turn the pedals and watch the back wheel move while remaining stationary.)

Step 6: Hands, feet, face, bum...everything is where it should be. Officially ready to ride.

Step 7: Going- but a little nervous and a little hot from being outside.

Step 8: Reminder! Face remains forward, not staring at the cool shadow you and your bike make on the street.

Step 9: Because when you are busy staring at the ground instead of where you are going you might run into something...or let's just say tip over?

Step 10: Falling happens.

Step 11: Fisher officially rides his big boy bike.

Step 12: All done for the day until the next time.
