Miscellaneous Magoo
We are a family of many talents...Fisher can balance his sippy cups on the edge of any flat surface...
And I am capable of ruining pretty much anything on the stove....but Todd loves me anyway :)
Fisher with his sucker that Grandma & Grandpa Church sent him for a St. Patty's Day treat. He loves suckers! Thanks, G&G Church!
We have a germ freak on our hands! Speaking of hands, here is Fisher cleaning his hands in his Mom's glass of ice water. It was pretty funny because he would delicately dip his fingers/hands in and then dry them off and repeat the process.
Wiping the ice cold water on his face....this must have been one of the days our air conditioner was broken...now that the AC is fixed they have moved on to new things. Today the water shut off-right in the middle of my shower...lovely.
This one is for you Grandma Lund! Unfortunately it isn't the best view of his mohawk.
Fisher with Grandma Church and his fork which is more like a "spork". He loved playing with his Church grandparents & Jedd when they came down to visit.
Fisher's "art work" on the carpet in his room. We seriously are going to have to do something about this before we move! For now we will consider it payback to our apartment management. And for those of you who are worried about this, we DO clean up the mess! Sunday, April 08, 2007
Happy Easter!
Here is Fisher's Easter basket which is a group effort from his mom and dad and both sets of grandparents who sent/brought him a couple things. We meant to dye Easter eggs but didn't get around to it.
The picture is a little blurry but this picture shows how excited he was about his basket.Fisher in his Easter outfit. He was a little stinker today at church which is nothing new these days. Todd decided to take him into nursery to start getting him adjusted since he will start in June. The Jr. nursery teachers have been telling us for a while to bring him in as long as we stay in there with him. They played with bubbles (it must be a universal LDS nursery requirement, Sariah & Amy :) and Fisher loved it so we busted out the scented bubbles from G&G Church. We didn't do too much since we were inside and it was too cold to take him outside.

Oh by the way...Todd joined the Air Force
So yesterday was a big day for Todd as he officially joined the Air Force. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Reserve of the Air Force until he graduates from dental school and then he will start active duty and can move up in the officer rankings. He will have to work for the AF for four years in order to pay back the four years of dental school which they will pay for. He will then be in the inactive reserves for an additional four years after that....We know it sounds like a huge commitment. It IS a huge commitment but it was worth it to us to not be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and then having to buy into a practice. By going this route we won't have too much debt, Todd will automatically have a job afterwards so no stress in finding a practice or even scarier having to start up his own, and it will give him an opportunity to gain some experience. Who knows, if we were to like it enough Todd could work for the AF for 20 years and retire on officer's pay and that wouldn't be so bad. So to us, this is a win-win situation even though some of you may be thinking we are crazy.
When he wasn't trying to escape from the room, Fisher enjoyed playing with the flags and the typewriter.
Todd signing his life away...Some of things he signed were that if he fails out of school he will re-pay all the debt, he has to attend the Commissioned Officer Training (COT), and if he passes up a certain weight then he will have to participate in the Fitness Improvement Program which I have been calling Fat Man Camp.
This was Todd taking his oath during the commissioning ceremony.
Todd with his recruiter, Sgt. Potts. He came down from Indianapolis for the ceremony. Nice guy.
There's no turning back now! We are so excited for this next phase in our lives. Although we will be poor students for four more years we are just excited to finally have a plan and a new place to live.Wednesday, March 28, 2007
What keeps our hope alive!
I came home from work today like any other day and walked up the stairs like any other day and what do I see? Something that, unfortunately, is not quite as unusual as one would hope (***see below***)...I know you are probably thinking "Wait! I thought those neighbors were evicted!" Well, don't worry, those neighbors WERE evicted....however these neighbors are still here. These neighbors live next to the apartment where those neighbors used to live until they were evicted. Those neighbors (aka the "evictees") lived across from us which makes these neighbors (aka the giant TV smuggling up the stairs at 1 am, non-english speaking and constant spanish YELLING, loogie hawking in the hallway, loud & obnoxious neighbors) kiddie corner from us.
Yes, folks, it is a couch (or pieces of a couch) stacked up outside the door making it impossible to get in or out of the door...or at least very dangerous to do so. Who does this?!?!?
***Don't remember our hallway adventures? Check these out!***

So this is what we have to keep our hope alive. It isn't very big and it is a little longer of a drive than what we were originally thinking of but we absolutely love it! We can picture ourselves being very happy in our little starter home for the next four years while Todd goes to dental school at the University of Louisville. Did we mention that we decided to stay in Louisville instead of moving to Cleveland? In the end it was a lot easier to stay here. We are familiar with Louisville, we already had a house in mind which we are going to buy from our friends, and things just sort of fell into place.
It makes me happy looking at these pictures so I thought I would share. Sorry to those of you who we have already seen these. You can move on or you can humor me and look at them again.
This is from the kitchen looking towards the front door.
Our little kitchen...can't you just picture me cooking up a storm here? (TOTALLY kidding.)
Here is our soon to be deck where we will BBQ with the BBQ that we don't have!
Here is the back yard. Aren't the trees beautiful?? Fisher will have lots of room to run around which will be a nice change. As of right now we won't even let him walk in the hallway outside our apartment due to the excessive amounts of "loogie" that dwells in the carpet thanks to our lovely neighbors.Tuesday, March 27, 2007
And when I thought it couldn't get any worse....

On a different note I do have to say that I am starting to become irritated with Chris Sligh and all of his sappy love songs...Okay buddy, I get that you are married and so lucky in love but I don't need to be reminded every single week! Get a life.
That's my two cents for tonight, although the show isn't over yet. 15 more minutes to go.Thursday, March 22, 2007
Fisher and the Park...Finally!
Before we went to play at the park there was a basset hound named Max who wanted to play with Fisher and Daniel. I took a picture for Todd since he has a soft spot in his heart for basset hounds.
Fisher's first time in a swing. He never liked the baby swing so I guess we weren't in any hurry to try the big boy swing but now I feel bad because he absolutely loved it.
Loving every minute of the swing.
Fisher was fascinated by the mulch on the ground. The ground was wet because Louisville has been receiving a lot of rain. He would occasionally fall down and then stare at his hands trying to figure out what was on them. This picture was one of the first times his hands were dirty from the ground.
As time progressed he realized he could get his hands even dirtier...
Sliding down the slide. We had to wipe the slides down since they were wet and the boys would get stuck but Fisher enjoyed it regardless of how wet it was.
