Ornament 2007

We received the cutest ornament from Mom Lund this year. I am going to put in a plug for the girl that made it: check out http://www.sculpturesbyem.com/

Does it look familiar?
(And Lisa- I would just like to point out that this is TWO posts in one day! :)

Kentucky Christmas all blown up...

Driving around our neighborhood we have enjoyed the festive decorations. We aren't sure if it is just a Kentucky thing but this year we have noticed new decorations of epic proportions...the Christmas blow up. It is very common to see one or two in a yard...and then there is always the occasional house with six...or eight..or more...

Kentucy's version of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. This house is awesome.

A yard wouldn't be complete without a giant cross front and center.

This house decided to stick with the traditional Santa, tree & giant snowman.

This one went a little more unconventional with a polar bear on a motorcycle and a penguin riding sidekick in the bucket seat and a Dalmatian Santa.

Santa popping out of an igloo...and of course, the abominable snowman holding a star.

Santa's Rock Band.

The Grinch and a monkey Santa with monkey pals.

Everyone needs a giant Scooby Doo to fend off Santa.

The standard snow globe, snowman and Santa accompanied by their sweet ride parked on the grass. I dedicate this picture to my late Grandpa Lund :)

Polar bears aren't the only ones on motorcycles with penguin side-kicks.

Santa riding a pair of flamingos...

I have to be honest-this one really creeped me out. Santa had a lot going on in his belly but I am not sure what.

What the blow ups look like during the day when they are actually blown up.

What most of the houses look like during the day before the blow ups come to life.

What some Kentucky residents use to weigh down their blow ups...

Thanks Uncle Ken & Aunt Alicia!

Fisher received a birthday package in the mail the other day from Ken, Alicia & Abby. Although he doesn't touch the presents under the tree, brown packages that come in the mail are much too tempting for him. He knows that fun things come in brown packages. He convinced me to let him open his birthday package a little early.

I had to take pictures after Fisher had already inflicted his damage.

The package was so much fun!

Although Fisher is concentrating on something else at this particular moment (things that dwell up nasal passages that can easily be reached by fingers) he was really excited about the balls and has played with them non-stop!

He likes licking the rubber.

Dumping them all out.

Here is Fisher asking me to let him open the package. Thanks again guys! You made Fisher's day :)

Thanksgiving, Tree & Misc.

Todd and I hosted our first Thanksgiving this year. My brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and cousin came to Louisville from Indiana to celebrate with us. We had a great time. It was my first time cooking most of the food we prepared and thankfully the worst food distaster was the jello and not something like the turkey! Thanks for the help in the kitchen, Katrina!
Steve and Fisher playing with legos. I have learned that as boys grow up into men, their love for building blocks does not diminish. I have watched my husband, brother and cousin all play with legos with the same amount of enthusiasm as my two year year old!

Fisher found a lot of enjoyment from Katrina's shoes. After showing a little more skill when it came to running in heels than most (almost) two year males should posess, Todd made him take them off...

Me getting down and dirty with the turkey...(Yes Mom, I touched the raw meat...)

Todd carving turkey for the first Thanksgiving we've ever hosted at our place. It's about time we were able to use one of the three electric knives we received for our weeding!

*This is where I would put a picture of the whole group but I didn't have one on our camera. Look to Steve & Katrina's blog for one.*

Chandler and Fisher had a great time playing with eachother. Hopefully Fisher will start sharing his toys a little better in the future.

Fisher playing legos with my cousin Golden. Here's a shout out to any single females who might stumble across my blog...he's single and lookin' for love! (Golden, not Fisher)
Don't hate me, Golden!

Fisher enjoying some delicious pie.

Fisher and Chandler hugging good-bye until January.

This year we upgraded from a fake two foot tall tree to a fake 6.5 ft tall tree. One day we will have a real one, but it's all about baby steps, right? Fisher helped put some of the ornaments on.

Fisher and Todd putting the star on the tree.

Fisher has finally discovered blankets and how fun it is to curl up in one.

Parking his car in its new garage. (Under the tree)

Fisher and Landon, a boy I babysit, playing together.

Fisher loves to help me sweep and use the dust pan. He now calls the broom "help" because he wants to help me do it. He'll stand in front of the broom closet asking for "help?"

Thanks Sariah. Fisher is now a sticker monster! (Church has been a lot more successful since we started playing with stickers during sacrament meeting.)
